Who we are

Navegamar we are people of the sea, lovers of sailing and with great experience in the nautical world. We have more than 15 years of professional experience working in charter companies, skippering boats with clients in different parts of the world. different parts of the worldand transports and working in the maintenance of them. All this makes us the professional and human team capable of providing you with the necessary assistance.

Navegamar was born out of passion y experience of its founding partner Nacho García after more than fifteen years as a professional in the nautical sector. He decides to go one step further and unify advice in the search for boat search for its clients for its clients, its experience in Atlantic crossings, the maintenance maintenance of all types of vessels and the search of crew members.

Our mission: to bring sailing closer to everyone and that, in one way or another, whoever wants to sail can do it. We offer different options to suit all budgets. From the classic charter-charter, to volunteer crew for those who wish to add experience and do not have the budget to rent. We also offer shared charter as well as refresher courses for skippers who wish to refresh or update both theoretical and practical knowledge. During a stay on board of several days they will apply both knowledge.

The team

Nacho García García
(CEO and founding partner)

Nacho is the sixth in a family of seven siblings. At the age of 7, he started light sail He has participated in Optimis, Kadete, Vaurien and 420 class regattas. This sensitivity and tact learned in dinghy sailing has become one of his main qualities in offshore crossings.

From 1996 to 2005 he continues linked to the sailing world taking part in multiple cruising regattas in the Mediterranean as the well-known Ruta de la Sal, Peñón de Ifach, Copa del canal, Jornadas Pitiuisas, Alicante Club Championships…with the cruiser regatta, Rocinante MF43 regatta one designe, of the shipowner Alberto Martínez Flechoso.

Spends two years in New Zealand (2005-06). sailing along the coasts of the country aboard the classic Ketch ¨Ehthel¨ of 1896, owned by Tomas Leary. He made transfers for the company Charter Link. He takes part in the restoration of the 72-foot wooden ketch “Wind Heaven” and participates in many amateur regattas in Auckland.

2007 to 2009 With the company Wind Cat Palma S.L. (charter company and national distributor of Lagoon and Beneteau) covers different areas: Base manager, maintenance technician, skipper for charter weeks in the Balearic Islands and transfer of boats throughout the peninsula.

Studied bridge studies at the Instituto Marítimo Pesquero de Arrecife, Lanzarote (2011-13) obtaining the degrees of:

Winters are spent cruising the Caribbean aboard the ¨Pura Vida¨ a 37 feet Sloop. He has participated as First Officer in the transatlantic race from ¨Estrella Maris¨ Saint Marteen, Caribbean to Bayonne (4.200 miles), Spain. He premiered the ¨Gran Jotiti ¨ a Ro62 with which he participated in numerous races such as Huelva – La Gomera.

He spent the following summers as a skipper on catamarans in the Mediterranean until he founded Navegamar in 2014.

Sergio Ciruelas Sánchez
(charters and sailing transfers)

Born in Madrid, he studied at the Instituto Marítimo Pesquero de San Andrés, Tenerife in 2001 where he obtained the professional title of Patrón de Litoral (Coastal Skipper).

He has done 12 seasons in the Mediterranean in private sailboats of great length as the ¨Wabi Sabi¨, a 30 m ketch and long distance transfers as the ¨Alarife 100¨ from Barcelona to New Zealand. He has also participated in ocean races such as the ¨Gran Prix del Atlántico¨ 2012 Lanzarote – Martinique in 9 days, where they obtained the first place as well as the 600 miles of the Caribbean or the Heineken regatta in Sant Marteen, Caribbean.

He traveled the Caribbean for 7 years aboard his sailboat, a 37-foot Peterson called ¨Pura Vida¨. With it he arrived in Panama in 2013 where he made charters through the indigenous region of San Blas until last year when he crossed to the Pacific. Today he manages and commercializes excursions in Panama and the Caribbean. In the summer months he spends the season in the Mediterranean as skipper with Navegamar. He has more than 55,000 ocean miles sailed and 16 years in the nautical sector and has participated in the reconstruction of some ships such as the ¨Gran Jotiti¨ in the shipyards of Longitud Cero, Castellón 2012.
